I have been listening to some of Grieg's lyric piano pieces, so good! The emotional depth is no less than Chopin, and the inner reflection with that nostalgic sentiment is also like Chopin's. Though rediculed by the likes of Debussy, Grieg remains a favorite composer of mine. His music leads me to the icy Scandinavian fiords, serene, calm, clear and graceful as the composer's mind.
Some of Grieg's words -
Bach and Beethoven erected temples and churches on the heights. I only wanted to build dwellings for men in which they might feel happy, and at home.
The realm of harmonies was always my dream world ... Wherever the immortal masters express feelings, I have found they show a preference for chromatic progressions. With these as a basis, I gradually developed my own conception of the importance of the chromatic element.
What is so-called originality, so-called novelty? This isn't the most important thing ... the most important thing is truth of feeling.

But please don't ignore the listener's feeling of Truth.
Some truth requires a whole mass or an opera to be settled down,
for some dummies like me.
Then I say, skill, structure, strength...

Of course, how can you recognize the turth of musical feeling if not a true listener?

If you are a dummie, what am I? :)
Then I say, skill, structure, strength...
In process, don't worry. :)
Have a good night!
