The Legion of Honor
This landmark exhibition, the first ever devoted to this particular subject in the United States, focuses on the artistic world inside the royal courts of the ancient Maya. It examines the highest peaks of cultural achievement attained by Maya city-states during the Late Classical Period (AD 600-800), with particular attention to the court of Palenque.
