Close your eyes my dear
We shall meet in dream
As the evening stars appear
Shining on a silent stream
To Neverland we fly
Over snow mountains and sea
When warm breezes pass by
All your fear and worries flee
A land where no one grows old
And the nights are bright as day
Children’s laughs gleam like gold
Innocence is the only game to play
Though I am a flawed and sad one
I'll be pure and perfect there
We'll sing many a happy song
To white lilies, sweet and fair
Neverland, O Neverland!
Love will find your hidden place
Guide me through and take my hand
Let heaven glow in my face

Saw the movie in the weekend, wanted to write a poem about Neverland (not particularly the movie). Tonight upon listening to a short organ piece by Buxtehude, Magnificat noni toni, BuxWV 205 - thanks to E Flat's CD suggestion and Miss Ma's articles - the poem is out.

I am no fan of poems but like the line of yours
"Innocence is the only game to play".
Finding Neverland is another highlight of Johnny Depp's own charactor. Something in him makes him good at this kind of charactors ( Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl, Chocolate, Benny & Joon,Sleepy Hollow). He is an artist (musician)in heart and he is very good. He brings the free spirit and poetry into films.
No wonder he was the one who played a 17th century poet, John Wilmot,in Libertine (2004).
Maybe his French life is adding more to his growing artistic spirit and taste.
Thanks for sharing, Adajio.

Thanks Little.
This poem is more or less a children's verse, I want it to have some rhyming liveliness so my boys can chant along.
The movie is a good one, deeply touching. Thanks for mentioning Johnny Depp's another movie Libertine, I might take a look.
