Motorcycle Diaries
Che is the most complete man of our age. --- Jean-Paul Sartre

Saw the movie a few days ago. Loved it.
Youth, idealism, compassion, bravery, nobility, poetry ... all have spoken to us from one movie, one journey, one man.
Unforgettable movie. Bravo!

Sorry, couldn't write Chinese this time. - Re: Motorcycle Diariesposted on 02/27/2005
Being in Spanish considerably reduced my pleasure of watching it. The movie did not seem to say why he became known as "Che" even though it showed it,or did I missed it? - posted on 02/28/2005
On the contrary, I more like watching foreign films with subtitiles, especially the Spanish and Italian ones for their unique tempo and rhythm of the languages.
Not sure how Guevara got the nickname "Che" in the movie, it suddenly came out of Alberto's mouth at the end of the movie and I was a little supprised. Though in the middle of the movie the two Chilean sisters mentioned the Argentine accent "Che", which makes Argentines distinguished among all south American people that speak Spanish, that's probably why Guevara got this nickname from his comrades from other south American countries.
Last night Motorcycle Diaries won the best song (the first foreign language song ever nominated and won in Oscar), Finding Neverland won the best original score, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind won the best original screenplay. I was happy for their winning since I saw all there and like them all.
Haven't seen Million Dollar Baby, not sure if I want to see it. Eastwood likes to dig into the dark side of human life, I saw Mystic River last year and it's pretty dark, which makes me feel quite disorientated afterwards.

Here's an interesting article that disapproves the movie, though I recognized all the facts stated in the article, I found my ardor for the movie not hurt even by a bit.
A few others' responses to the article are less biased and more profound, about Guevana one of the guys said, Che is the "St. Francis in the secular host of angels"http://slate.msn.com/id/2107100/ - posted on 02/28/2005

Che,as far as I know, is a Spanish word used only in Argentina, and it means "buddy, pal" as we say in Chinese 哥们。 - Re: Motorcycle Diariesposted on 03/03/2005
