My heart had a thousand rooms
All locked with fear
At the hour of a thousand blooms
Every flower is dear
My dream had a thousand faces
All wearing an obscure smile
At wakening I see crystal traces
The light shines all the while
My muse had a thousand tones
All mingled with melancholic air
As turtle-doves start their sweet songs
Gone are old sighs and despair
Happy, happy bird, intoxicating voice!
Shine with beauty, breathe of love
In winter’s slumber revive your joys
Over meadow, over mountain, and the sky above

Spring is for woman, autumn is for man.
turtle-dove is so lovely a bird, why it's connected with turtle
and turkey should be the american man.
thanks for the poem, and benben's also.

I like it, Adagio. I always wanted to ask you if you've received any training in humanity and liberal art? It just seems that you are very well trained...
I have a poem in my mind that is related to spring. It also contains a lot of "a thousand". :-) I was unable to finish it for quite a while: can't find the right word. I will see if I can finish it over the weekend. - Re: Springposted on 04/15/2005
No Susan, I never had any literary training, I studied Economics in college and went to B-school here in the States. All rather dreadful trainings. :)
I wonder what my highschool English teacher would think if he knew I am writing poetry in English now ...
Expecting your Spring poem
(Just finished everything at work, oh, what a great feeling to be free at last!)

I like short poems - can't stand a long one for my attention will drift.
Well I am not surprised that Adagio had no training. In fact I am rather pleased about it. For I an convinced that training is for making a living yet poems are from the spring of your mind. The only thing is, good poems have to be helped by talent.

If you are happy or in love, every season is as beautiful as spring. At least, from eyes of cheerful children... But still, for lonely hearts or sad people, Spring comes to remind the beauty of life and nature...
Spring, it is nature's coffee. - Re: Springposted on 04/18/2005
Spring is more an inspiration for many though, a revivification of creative power hopefully. - Re: Springposted on 04/19/2005
If Adigo is a flower
I would rather be a gardener
water her
every single hour
if Adigo is a willow
I would be the river below her
washing down all her sorrows and sadness
and then disappear
why my eye often filled with tears?
because my heart obssesed by her
so deeply
joke:)

Mr joke,
I guess you don't listen to music. My name comes from the slow movement of a symphony or a sonata, Chinese translation 柔板, but I am gald to answer too when called 慢板 given my old age and slow movement.
How old are you? 90?
