Surprising and confusing new evidence was released, Tuesday, in the attempted kidnapping and armed battery case against former astronaut Lisa Nowak. Dozens of photographs of the evidence have been made public and others have only been described.

The confusing evidence that's just gone public is that there was computer disk holding 15 photos and drawings of a partially-clothed woman in bondage. Nowak also had 11 Chinese fortunes with her, along with the weapons and other things.

Investigators are still trying to figure out why was Lisa Nowak was carrying around pictures of female bondage. Is she into submission? Was she trying to throw off investigators if she had completed her plan?

The floppy disk contained 16 images, 15 of them showing a woman sometimes nude, according to a forensic examination report by the Orlando Police Department. Nearly all of the images depicted scenes of bondage, the report said, but they were not released.

The documents did not make clear if Nowak was the woman in the photos or who the disks belonged to if the disk belonged to her or someone else.

Police did publicly release images of items they found with her two months ago when, they believe, Nowak had planned to kill her romantic rival, Air Force Captain Colleen Shipman.

Nowak had weapons that could knock someone out, a two-pound drilling hammer, a BB gun and two packages of BBs. She had a knife and tubing that could be used as a tourniquet, which experts said could help in secretly disposing of a body. She had latex gloves and leather gloves to keep her hands clean and keep other evidence clean of her fingerprints.

Along with a black wig, glasses, trench coats and hats she used to disguise herself, she had temporary tattoos and lots of eyeliner. She also had lots of cash, but not enough to go away for a lifetime.

One theory is that, because she got to Orlando from Houston fairly quickly, maybe she planned to get back just as quickly, so that her trip might go unnoticed.

Nowak also had 11 Chinese fortunes with her, which investigators believe might give insight to her thoughts. One reads, "You will take a chance in the near future and win." Another reads, "The coming month shall bring winds of change in your life."

Nowak also had Discovery memorabilia, a coin, patches and pins and even her STS-121 flight crew briefing. She waited ten years for that chance and now she knows it was her last.

Nowak, 43, pleaded not guilty to attempted kidnapping, burglary with assault and battery. NASA released Nowak from the astronaut corps a month after her arrest.
