Strawberry Fields Forever

Strawberry Fields Forever吧。
It started out as a nostalgic view of Salvation Army orphanage
in Woolton, where he, Pete Shotton and Ivan Vaughan used
to play amongst the trees, and ended up, like so many of John's
songs, as a rumination on states of consciousness.
John recognized the fields as a place where he could be alone
and let his imagination run free.
(refrain)
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn't matter much to me.
(refrain)
No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right.
That is I think it's not too bad.
(r)
Always no sometimes think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream.
I think, er No, I mean, er Yes but it's all wrong.
That is I think I disagree.
(r) &
Strawberry Fields Forever....
Magical
Because of these romantic associations, Strawberry Field became
a symbol of his desire to be alone, of his feeling that he was somehow
set apart from his contemporaries. If 'Strawberry Fields Forever' is
a song about John seeing the world in a different way to everyone
around him, the meaning is clearer in the earliest version of the lyric,
where he wrote that no-one is on his wavelenght, they're either 'too
high or too low'. By the time he came to record it, he had deliberately
obscured this meaning perhaps for fear of being labelled pretentious -
by sing that no-one was in his 'tree', as this was either too high or
low.

Penny Lane
Penny Lane & Strawberry Fields
To Paul and John, who had spent their early years in this
neighbourhood, it was symbol of glorious childhood innocence
when everyone seemed friendly and the sun shone for ever
in a clear blue sky.
In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to have known,
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello.
On the corner is a banker with a motorcar,
The little children laugh at him behind his back.
And the banker never wears a mac
In the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back
In Penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen.
He likes to keep his fire engine clean,
It's a clean machine.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
A Four of fish and finger pies
In summer, meanwhile back
Behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout
A pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she's in a play
She is anyway.
In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer,
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim.
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back.
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies,
Penny Lane.
Finger pie was a Liverpudlian sexual reference in cluded in the
song to amuse the locals. "IT was just a nice little joke for
the Liverpool lads who like a bit of smut," said Paul. "For months
afterwards, girls serving in local chip shops had to put up with
requests for 'fish and finger pie'."

Piggies
George referred to 'Piggies' as "a social comment" although the
song did little more than mock the middle-classes by calling
them pigs, a Sixties term of derision usually reserved for the
police.
Have you seen the little piggies
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.
Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.
In their sties with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.
Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.
The song became notorious in 1971 when it was revealed that
Charles Manson, the self-appointed leader of the notorious Manson
'family', had interpreted the words as a warning to the white
establishment that they were to get ready for an uprising.
Particularly significant, in Manson's disturbed mind, was the
suggestion that the piggies were in need of "a damn good whacking".
According to witnesses, this was one of Manson's favourite lines,
and one that he quoted frequently before his imprisonment for
involvement in the murders which many saw as the final dark
chapter in the hippie era.

Blackbird
Paul
The tune was not based on a blackbird sing but on a piece
by Bach which Paul had learned as a teenager. He was partly
thinking of the racial situation in America and wrote it for the
typical black woman facing oppression.
Piece.
McCartney revealed on 2006, that the guitar accompaniment
for Blackbird was inspired by Bach's Bourrée in E minor, a well
known classical guitar piece. As kids, he and George Harrison
tried to learn Bourrée as a "show off" piece. Bourrée is distinguished
by melody and bass notes played simultaneously on the upper
and lower strings. McCartney adapted a segment of Bourrée as
the opening of "Blackbird," and carried the musical idea throughout
the song.

The Continuing Story of Bangalow Bill
The White Album
Bungalow Bill, the song says, 'Went out tiger hunting with his
elephant and gun. In case of accidents he always took his mum.'
Written by John while in India, it recounts the true story of
Richard Cooke III, a young American college graduate, who
visited his mother Nancy while she was on the course in Rishikesh.
Hey, Bungalow Bill
What did you kill
Bungalow Bill? (2x)
HE WENT out tiger hunting with his elephant and gun
In case of accidents he always took his mom (pronounced "mum")
He's the all American bullet-headed saxon mother's son.
All the children sing
Hey ...(2x)
Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies
Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise
So Captain Marvel zapped him right between the eyes
All the children sing
Hey ...(2x)
The children asked him if to kill was not a sin
But when he looked so fierce, his mummy butted in
If looks could kill it would have been us instead of him
All the children sing
Hey ...
The song was written by Lennon as mocking what he saw as Rik's
bravado and unenlightened attitude toward killing. John's reaction
was scornful and sarcastic, asking Rik: "But wouldn't you call that
slightly life-destructive?"
Lennon later told that: "[Bungalow Bill] was written about a guy in
Maharishi's meditation camp who took a short break to go shoot a
few poor tigers, and then came back to commune with God. There
used to be a character called Jungle Jim, and I combined him with
Buffalo Bill. It's sort of a teenage social-comment song and a bit of
a joke."

Blue Jay Way
本来想好了贴I am A Walrus,玛雅让听justin timberland,也没听
There's a fog upon L.A.
And my friends have lost their way
We'll be over soon they said
Now they've lost themselves instead.
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep
Well it only goes to show
And I told them where to go
Ask a policeman on the street
There's so many there to meet
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep
Now it's past my bed I know
And I'd really like to go
Soon will be the break of day
Sitting here in Blue Jay Way
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep.
......
The Song was written by George in August 1967 during his visit to
California with Pattie(wife), Neil Aspinall and Alex Mardas. On arrival
in Los Angeles on August 1, they were driven to a small rented house
with a pool on Blue Jay Way, a street high in the Hollywood Hills
above Sunset Blvd.
Friends lost their way to the house. George whiled away the time by
composing this song while they were lost in the fog.
Belong,'lost their way' meant that a whole generation had lost
their direction.

I am the Walrus
John acted as Egg Man at West Malling Air Station, Kent, in
Sept.1967, in this video clip.
I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.
Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.
Corporation t-shirts, stupid bloody Tuesday.
Man, you've been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.
I am the eggman (woo), they are the eggmen (woo), I am the walrus,
RIGHT: goo goo goo joob
WRONG: Koo koo kachoo.
Mister City P'liceman sitting
Pretty little policemen in a row.
See how they fly like Lucy in the Sky, see how they run.
I'm crying.
I'm cry, I'm crying, I'm cry.
Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
Boy, you been a naughty girl and you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman (woo), they are the eggmen (woo), I am the walrus,
goo goo gajoob.
Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun.
If the sun don't come, you get a tan from
Standing in the English rain.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen, I am the walrus,
goo goo gajoob ga goo goo gajoob.
Expert texpert choking smokers,
Don't you think the joker laughs at you? (ho ho ho, he he he, ha ha ha)
See how they smile like pigs in a sty, see how they snide.
I'm crying.
Semolina Pilchard, climbing up the Eiffel Tower.
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna.
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen, I am the walrus,
goo goo goo joob goo goo goo joob goo googoooooooooooojoob
(then random beatles chatter and noises)
The 'elementary pengiun' which chanted Hare Krishna was John
having a dig at Allen Ginsberg who, at the time, was chanting
the Hare Krishna mantra at public events. The walrus itself came
from Lewis Carroll's poem 'The Walrus and The Carpenter'.

Octopus Garden
George Harrison
点出来,比如Hard Day's Night等。
Turn you on (Beat):
The song is sometimes thought of as being a song for children,
like "Yellow Submarine", "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill"
or "All Together Now". It has also been performed by the Muppets
several times in various episodes of their shows.
In 1969, George revealed that there were hidden dimensions. Even
though Ringo only knew three chords on the piano, George said, the
drummer was writing "Cosmic songs without really noticing it".
In the Beatles' film Let It Be, Starr is shown rehearsing the song
on piano, joined by Harrison, who assists him with the "We would be,
so happy you and me..." portion of the song. Starr received sole
writing credit despite this.
