Just a few recent shots in the streets of Paris.
A rule of thumb: men prefer not to expose too much, and women prefer not to wear too much, as demonstrated by this little stature in Jarden de Luxenberg.

Good old Sir Winston strode in front of Grand Palais. And he was quoted to have said these words shown on the foundation of this stature: "We Will Never Surrender".

Church of St Magdalene (structurally more like a Greek temple)
Mary Magdalene was the female companion of Jesus. She and the other Mary (mother of Jesus) were at the side of Jesus after the Crucifixion. They were not married because Jesus was born out of wedlock and thus forbidden from getting a wife according to Roman laws. Although described as a prostitute by the Catholic Church, Magdalene was probably the founder of Christian Gnostic tradition.

What a law, that's like making the bastardship a heritable trait :)
I did a bit of search. It seems to be a Jewish law. So that would add another dimension to Jesus being a rebel. - Re: Female model selling bags shot on a bridge in Parisposted on 11/06/2009
Most people in this place are probably locals indeed.

It seems the Jewish law only prohibits an illegitimate to marry another Jew, whereas the Roman law completely prohibits a bastard to get married.
BTW, is it true that a bastard is not allowed to be a rabbi?

Here is what I found:
"Deuteronomy 23:2
A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD."
According to this, yes, it's true. But, it seems that the word bastard (mamzer) meant something narrower:
"According to Orthodoxy a mamzer, bastard, is not the offspring of an unmarried mother. ...
A mamzer is a child born to an impossible union, to a man and a woman married to another man."
Then it's not true. Was Jesus a rabbi? It seems that it depends on the meaning of rabbi and whom you ask :) The word "rabbi" just meant "my master" so to his disciples and followers, he is a rabbi.
But the more I think about it, the more I suspect that Jesus was a social outcast. - posted on 11/06/2009

Church of the Invalid(荣誉军人堂). The remains of Napoleon are buried here. Flags from foreign armies defeated by the French hang high. The Chinese ones are probably from the Opium war era.

Dear 8 ye, so you are back from Paris, did you manage to visit some places in provinces?? - Re: Female model selling bags shot on a bridge in Parisposted on 11/18/2009
Dear 鹿希 - Yes I am back. No, I did not get to see any of the provinces. I decided to stay the entire length of the conference because it turned out to be more interesting than expected. Thanks for asking. 81zi :-)
