呵呵,果真兴师问罪来了。馋在心里,不可说。-其实就是好几年没滑雪了,想得慌。我看见雪就像David in Erin Brochovoch seeing his pals cruising by on the bikes.

心情很复杂。可能这也是我喜欢wilderness的原因。那里日落的时候不好照,因为太阳没没落的时候就被promontary山挡住了,谷地里都是阴影,和天空的反差太大 (我不用ND滤镜)。
那个地方是当年transcontinental railroad的center stage。有1万余华人参加了铁路的建设,可是后来合龙的时候的照片里没有一个是华人。union pacific和central pacific为了多拿到补贴,争相铺路基,出现了两条parallel grade. Union pacific还建了一条400英尺长,85英尺高的trestle (it's nerve breaking to ride a train across that trestle, which is held together by round timbers and seven inch spikes), 后来放弃了。我以为那个trestle还在,就去找,背着背包和三角架,暴走了单程一个小时,也没有找到,后来看了看资料才知道已经不在了。不过走在trail上,依然可以想像一下当年这个工程的艰巨,和工人们的sheer determination.

sky is blue, clouds are white, wilderness so expansive and we humans are .... insignificant
