The reason why I do not like to read English writings by Chinese authors is exactly that: English with Chinese characteristics. You can literally translate them back into Chinese without much effort.

But who knows, maybe old wai likes it?

And I myself also dream of being accepted as a writer writing in English! Isn't that contradictory?

But I feel it is very hard to achieve the nuances of the Chinese language when you write in English.

So, a Chinese author's English writings must be stong in story, otherwise they are not worth reading.

To enjoy the wonders of the English language, you have to read the masters of that language, mostly native writers and occasionally writers of European backgrounds.
