  又是夏天.
  记起了去年的夏天,我在 Nova Scotia 的一个小岛上住了2周, 朋友的别墅在悬崖边。没有左邻右舍，也没有电视和计算机，晚上总是挑一本书，围着壁炉大家轮着读。有一晚，朋友挑了一本 旧书: 乔治.桑的传记。我渐渐对这本书着了迷。而深深触动我的是肖邦的临终遗言：She had said to me that I will die in no arms but hers.
  
  四月我在巴黎呆的一周里，常坐在露天咖啡店，看着 巴黎女人夹者香烟，佐者葡萄酒，轻嚼慢咽的享用午餐时，想着的却是100多年前生活在这个城市的女人-乔治.桑. 在塞纳河的左岸我找到了她住过的公寓，虽不对外开放，但我推开了那扇沉重的木门， 站在那儿，似乎隐约可以听见肖邦的琴声…
  还有他对乔治.桑至死不变的眷恋: I will die in no arms but hers.
  
  我们这一代是会注定客死他乡的.

• SusanI am a wimp. I wanted to die at home, surrounded by loved ones. I wanted to choose the day myself, making sure the weather is good. We will have a big party with a death-day cake; we will talk about my favorite memories in life, cry a little, hug each other and say good bye. Then I will drink the doses of poisons prescribed by my suicide physician. People from the mortuary will be waiting outside.

• 娴�鐢�Susan 的死法让我想起电影 The Barbarian Invasions。 我也想我爱过的人都死在我的怀中。轮到自己时，只希望象世上少了一粒尘挨，没有人会注意到，也别无牵挂，是不是有点自私啊？
