This article is at least 50 years backward. Who is still living in 婆家 anyway?
- posted on 12/05/2005

That doesn't count. More likely it is the 婆婆 who lives in the 媳妇's house, so the 婆婆 should be more concerned about the 合谐不合谐 problem. :-)
Wooo... that would be the ideal situation... Don't marry the professional though, I got the impression that 大厨先生 are usually bad tempered.

- posted on 12/07/2005
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl
Night time would find me in Rosa's cantina
Music would play and Feleena would whirl
Blacker than night where the eyes of Feleena
Wicked and evil while casting a spell
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden
I was in love, but in vain I could tell
One night a wild young cowboy came in
Wild as the West Texas wind
Dashing and daring, a drink he was sharing
With wicked Feleena, the girl that I loved
So in anger
I challenged his right for the love of this maiden
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore
My challenge was answered in less than a heartbeat
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor
Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran
Out where the horses were tied
I caught a good one
It looked like it could run
Up on its back and away I did ride
Just as fast as I could
From the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the badlands of New Mexico
Back in El Paso my life would be worthless
Everything's gone in life, nothing is left
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death
I saddled up and away I did go
Riding alone in the dark
Maybe tomorrow a bullet may find me
Tonight nothing's worse than this pain in my heart
And at last here I am
On the hill overlooking El Paso
I can see Rosa's cantina below
My love is strong and it pushes me onward
Down off the hill to Feleena I go
Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys
Off to my left ride a dozen or more
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me
I have to make it to Rosa's back door
Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side
Though I am trying to stay in the saddle
I'm getting weary, unable to ride
But my love for Feleena is strong
And I rise where I've fallen
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest
From out of nowhere Feleena has found me
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for
One little kiss and Feleena, goodbye

Amor de Chino
--- a fictional poem
One day in the mercado de Rosa
I saw a pretty Latina
Older than the other chicas
She appeared gentle and buena
I introduced myself in English
Pero Spanish was her only lingua
Everytime I went there shopping
I could only say Holla
Soon she vanished into thin air
And went to work for a joyeria
Somehow I found her with ease
Tipped by her compañera
But I visited her less than before
For jewlery is not like grocery
I also feared her boss's suspicion
So I cut short my visit, a revolution
Soon she left the store for where I knew not
As time flew fast I missed her more and more
In the joyeria I asked the boss about her again
He said she was working in a nearby store
Saturday I went there and saw her right away
She appeared as if I’d been there the day before
Shocked was me to learn that two years had passed
But she was as pretty as I first found her
I said how about I teach you English on weekends
She agreed and I was overjoyed
For I need not meet her under her boss’s eye
And could talk with her if my Spanish could go by
But our English lesson was very brief
Because her baby did her free time occupy
I had no other way but tried to teach her
A few palabras when I was passing by
Soon I went back home for a visit
And I saw this pretty purse made of silk
It was nice as a gift for her so I bought it
And brought it to the store after my plane landed
Disappointed was I to learn she had left
Even her boss did not know where
This second disappearance seemed to be forever
For I could not locate her whatsoever
The purse is now lying in my wardrobe
It’s would be mistress is nowhere to find
Her fair contenance lingers in my dream
Her soft voice echos from behind
Ah, how I wish I had lots of dinero
To open a café de chino
I would hire a jefe Latina
Maybe she would in my place trabaja
Adios mi amor, adios mi amiga
I wish you well wherever you are
One day I was passing a joyeria
I saw a mujer with a nice niña
