I can attest to this. Runners are familair with the term "runner's high", namely a feeling of euphoria experienced by mid-long and long-distance runners. Studies show that this feeling is associated with a release of endorphins by the brain. I generally experience this "high" feeling when I hit 3.5 to 4 mile range.
But based on my personal experience, I am inclined to think the underlying biological process associated with ski is more like adreneline rush, rather than the endorphin rush as expereinced during "runner's high".
