- July1924年，就在奥巴马房子的隔壁，发生了芝加哥最震惊的一桩谋杀案，也因此造就了一位历史上最好的律师。
这座房子是被害者Bobby Franks的家。他的父亲是当时最富有的犹太人，拥有芝加哥很多家旧货店。很多年了，这房子就这样荒废着，至今如此。[Image]
这座房子，是凶手Richard Loeb的家，他的父亲也是犹太人，是当时sears的副总裁。他的家就在Franks的家的对面。去年，这座房子在市场上的时候，我还进去看了看，和当时没有�
- July事情是这样的：Nathan Leopold 和Richard Loeb 是一对好朋友，同性恋者。他们出生于芝加哥最富有的犹太家庭。两人都是智商高超的神童，都是当时芝大的学生。他们的动机是设计异常完美的谋杀案。于是，就把邻居家14岁的Bobby绑架后杀害，然后，写信和打电话问Bobby的父亲要钱。在作案途中，LEOPOLD的眼镜掉在了路上，警察以此线索破了案。
- July芝加哥愤怒了。人们被豪门子弟的荒唐和血腥震惊了。要求判处他们死刑的呼声充满了芝加哥的大街小巷。

- JulyDarrow 出生于Ohio, 他坚决反对死刑，支持工会运动，鼓吹社会主义。穿着随便，不修边幅, 是芝加哥一大名流。
- July大家都以为，Darrow会用“神经分裂”等借口为他们辩护。出乎意料，Darrow直接让他们承认有罪，然后，用充满激情和同情的辩护，抗议了死刑的残暴。Darrow打动了人们的心，每个人，包括被害者的父母，都泪流满面,法官免除了他们的死刑。
- July后来，LOEB被一个同屋的囚犯杀死，LEOPOLD在监狱里做了很多教育工作。减刑后出狱，移民到波多黎各， 结婚。他说：Darrow 是他人生之父。 至死，他还深爱着LOEB。
- JulyDarrow的另一个著名的案例是为一个在学校宣讲“进化论”的年轻教师辩护。Darrow的辩护词是我读到过的最优美，动人的英文。他自己说，他有一颗诗人的心。Darrow被认为是美国历史上最好的律师。

嗯，看来参议员奥巴马很会用原则做交易。让别人来替自己的院子付钱，真是想得到！
- wukong克林顿的确反应敏捷，辩才无碍。他的很多interview都是unscripted，但是不需要作多少editing就可以成文，这一点即使他的政敌也不得不佩服。
另外跟W不同，克林顿出身极为humble，一无背景，二无后台，但却能一路过关斩将，历任州大法官、州长、直到最后入主白宫。这当中虽然有运气的因素，但主要还是凭借自己的实力。

Leopold loved Loeb soooo deeply, Loeb planned this plot, and Leopold did everything Loeb wanted. I see this story is a LOVE story. Leopold had Loeb's picture on his wall until he died.

Darrow已逝，决定论determinism不再，美国正在越来越多的州恢复死刑。
