To Maya | Jan 04 2008- Maya,
Happy new year. I would like to bring to your attention that recently some of my posts were mysteriously deleted without any warning or advance notice. For example, today I wrote a post which went like the following: "Life without mission, calling or a higher purpose is lifeless. To live for the sake of living is like to eat for the sake of eating. Oops, sounds like I am preaching. :-)" What's wrong with a message like this? One could certainly argue about the merits (or lack thereof) of the messege, but does it warrant a complete removal??
A little while ago, my Tibet line was removed, presumably becasue I treaded a "red line" or overstepped a boundary (even though the "red line" or the boundary was never clearly defined). Admittedly, that was a controversial topic, and with a bit struggle I could still understand the rationale underlying the admin's decision. But the admin's action today is totally beyond me, utterly unfathomable. I hope the admin was not acting on a whim, without the minumum respect for a regular cafe visitor and supporter, and without the minimum regard for the spirit of free expression of ideas on a free forum. I certainly hope the cafe has not fallen into a wrong hand, but there are worrying signs suggestive of the contrary. This, if proven true, does not bode well for the future of the Cafe.
With best wishes,
Wukong
