At the moment, I bet that the official just want to make the opening ceremony PERFECT and did not expect it to cause such a controversy internationally... With the hindersight, he would not have done it... Áõ»¶³¤Ï಻ºÃ, but he is the most improtant singer (from China) for the night... Anyway, it's just a show. For oversea chinese, most of us don't know any particular person in the earthquake area. We want to donate because we love China and our ͬ°û. Who should we trust? Hope these officials have some Á¼ÐÄ and would use the money to people in need!

It may be a little slower, but I think they need money at least in the next months... I don't want to donate to U.S. Redcross. First, I'm worried about U.S. Redcross may direct the fund to other use. Secondly, I'd like to see how much non-chinese americans would contribute, since Bush's government only donates a tiny amount of $500,000... Don't laugh at me ...

- [RE:] A Lone Tibetan VoicePosted by touche on 05/06/2008. xy commented once. Thanks for posting... But for western media, my trust of their fair and balanced reporting is seriously dwindling down... I wonder why they do not cite any articles from many non-"lone" voices in China... From latest Time Magazine - 100 influential people, they put Hu JinTao's PLA style picture down at left hand corner with all other six top leaders (politicians) pictures on the top. This metaphor-type of hint it implies just makes me sad... In addition, in Ma Yingjo's illustrative writing, they
- Hi, you have the same login name as I do in mayacafe... Since I won't be able to write Chinese at work, my posts are most in English and only participate in polictical issues - such as Tibet... Hope people won't be confused by this..., there are actually two different people behind... Maybe I should be completely out...

This also illustrates the attitudes and mentality of westerners who crave for challenge and love for fighting. They have been fighting with themselves for centuries. Now they find a new enemy as China rises up gradually. Looked at all the sports (football, baseball, Olympic Games¡) they have created and the enthusiastic fans¡ I¡¯m often amazed by our coworkers in the office for their energy and enthusiasm as they watch, talk, org

It must feel awful when you are surrounded by the prejudice and bais of those Germans. At least in U.S., we have so many chinese and chinese americans here, our voices are loud and clear. American media also try to be biased on 4/9, but all three TV station (NBC, CBS, and FOX NEWS) I watched that evening can't cover lots of Five-Star Red flags on the street of SF, though the words are still pro tibet... ¡°ÕâÁ½¸öÅ

I was watching TV last night and see that Nancy Pelosy was giving a speech in congress about her visit to Dalai Lama and plan to pass a resolution about Tibet issues today. I have been reading a few books about Tibet including Wang Lixiong's "Sky Burial - Fate of Tibet" Tsering Shakya's "The Dragon in the Land of Snows: A History of...". Tsering Shakya is a Tibetan and English Scholar. These books are pro-Tibet. The more I read these books, the more I dislike Dalai Lama. Evan those pro-Tibet scholars, they can't deny Dalai Lama's manipulation and CIA's involvement in Tibet. To westerners, Tibet is more of a pawn to contain China's superpower
