I was thinking about 童谣 also lately. A lot of them had morbid scenes. I don't quite buy into these arguments. I believe human beings have the foundemental needs to 1. categorize and differentiate themselves in whatever ways if not in religion. 2. expand their territories for whatever reasons if not for religion. Removing religions from human experiences (if at all possible) won't make much difference. .
