What? Mother-daughter relationship turns to be sisters-in-law?
How did the village people react to this? This is so un-Confucius, right?

Once upon a time (actually, not that long ago), I put a piece on CND titled "Iris Chang's Legacy". It was a story named "Words Before Dreaming" written by a student in a creative writing class who won a second place or third place in a writing contest. The author said he was inspired by Iris Chang's two books, "The Raping of Nanking", and "Chinese in America".

Interesting and good analogy.
You mean "identity"? The status?
I like 龙's works very much but it's not surprising that she would certainly identify with Taiwan (politics) than her "motherland" (culture).

Can't agree more.
Nowadays both sexes work but women have a "second shift" at home with the chores after a long day's work outside. Women have a long way to go to reach equality with men.

Right. Some book (don't remember which though) says sex is a way one feels alive, and of course, it produces life/reproduces.

A couple of bi, good point. Are they the earliest documented bi-couple?
Showing 一对虎牙 would involve the whole row of upper front teeth, but here, it is just 两齿微露. Likely it's just two slightly protruding teeth, the two upper front ones.

The problem is there is a war. And it is a rediculous war. Thus you have to do something to change it, so you go vote.

To this statement, you hardly know what to respond--laugh? Or frown? Or both. Should we be happy for our fellow-countryman's getting away from trouble? Yes? Should we be happy the reason the person got away is he looked exactly the same as all the other Chinese to the authority therefore he was given the benefit of doubt? Hmmm... maybe we each should get a clone, just in case, to cover up trouble for us.
On the other hand, this seems a common mistake one can be easily guilty of.

{我觉得李银河关心女性的生存状况,挺有道理的。当然把传统上让人不齿的“马路天使”同良家妇女相提并论,让人有点儿伤心。看大伙儿热烈讨论的,像是风烟四起,一家伙出来好几条线。}
李银河是发人深省。}

性别平等has a long, long, long, way to go.

i like this stanza--
It should be a sad poem but somehow it sounds as if it's full of hope and enthusiasm for life, maybe because of the last line

Indeed, there are lots of stories in those small pieces of paper!
A friend's namecard was marked with the title "PhD", when asked what his dissertation was about, he answered, "oh, I haven't written it yet."

Hope you had a good time during the Mid-Autumn Festival!
Here is a "poem" I wrote about the moon, just for fun!

It's true cats can be dangerous if you are pregnant. A parasitic disease called "toxoplasmosis" is related to infected cats. Toxoplasmosis can cause miscarriage to mothers, and physical malformations, mental retardation and low birth weight/prematurity in babies.
Cat lovers should think twice before you decide to have a baby.

Wow, didn't know years ago there was such a heated discussion on literature dishonest and plagiarism at Cafe.
I read both Chen's and Du's writings and liked both.
I don't think there is ANY difference in quality of their writing, but of course, in quantity, Chen produced more words. Chen wrote more, that's all.
From the harsh way 实而不华 criticized Du I suspect that 实而不华 might merely be a pen name of Chen's own.
