no isn't fuge, he looks different. I bought the latest issue of Nanfang Weekend yesterday ('s photo was there) and read it in the train, frankly speaking I am impressed with the writing quality of most reporters. It's said is the most experienced among them. Fuge is Xia Kong I think.

"Death is very likely the single best invention of Life"
well, who invented it? :)
I would say that death is the best revealation of life, without facing death closing, there are so much we don't know, about ourselves, about the world.
A very fine speech, is it recent? Steve Jobs isn't just a tech nerd or a business guy like Gates, he has passions too. :)

Fascinating story ... I didn't know Byron had such an outstanding daughter, who's more useful to the society and the posterity than the father perhaps. :)
Ada was born exactly 15 years earlier than Emily Dickinson BTW.

not long ago PBS aired a program about Ramesses. one thing I have to make clear:can his mummy still be seen today? I think in the program the mummy was shown (an ugly, weird scene, I had to close my eyes) many times. Ah-san, please find this out for me when you visit Egypt. :)

no, should be £not . maybe the way you interpreted this poem is different from what I meant to say.
The black butterfly is from earth, and the blue one from sky.
A very limited life, the one aimed for survival, surrounded by your most intimate family, is a narrow dark space, like mother's womb, warm, secure, yet without any enlightenment. That's where the black butterfly came from, but not where it's heading to.
A personal life should be a flight into vaster space, a growth that overcomes

All lyric poetry is about personal feelings, and all feelings should be personal. :)
As for me, it's not just lately I start to express personal feelings, I do that all the time, let me give an example -

To Funlover, thanks for your comment, but I think the last two stanzas are what this poem tries to impress - with the repressed psychology that later may be released into a more unsettling and overwhelming feeling.
To benben, thanks f

Now I think belief is relevant or meaningful only on personal level - human existence as a mere accident of comic evolution is itself purposeless, looking for meaning in life is really a task for individual only, thus we have all kinds of interpretations and explainations of what meaning is. God is indeed a concept for those who need it. How strong your belief is depends on how well you can make yourself believe.
