《管锥编》倒是至少跟了我十几载，不过没有“好好读过”。这样的东西，是值得好好读的么？我倒常常觉得这是判刑入狱时消磨时光的好材料。 没有好好读，偶然还是拿出来翻翻，看看葫芦里藏着什么药。《管锥编》是二、三百篇读书笔记。没有体系，读到哪引到哪说到哪。否则就是《管道论》了。今早，又一气读了四、五篇。印象还是他的白话随笔的艰难版：古文加上洋文，自己的话，通常没有几个字。真正是掉书袋大家也。 有个这样的人当叔伯可能不错。晚饭后听他古今中外闲侃，帮助消化。 我们这样个地大物博人广屁多的国家，多乎哉这样一个语文学家

苏三眼尖。不知道我的感觉和你的感觉是不是一码事。小马拉家常和小马谈艺是两个不同的人。我更喜欢拉家常时候的她。谈艺的时候你就看出她的痴劲来了。我不是太敢留恋。非痴无以致远。我说的全是褒义的，只是指出我觉得的差异而已。 顺便说，阿珊也是眼很尖的人。笨笨则是“曲”径通幽。:)

没有细读，但眼感不错。文字有诚挚感。砖头般的段落通常容易使人窒息，但这里却透出生息。

同意。是辛格的话么？ 任何艺术一旦自我意识太强，雕琢过多，形式考虑太多就变成虚弱病态。在《毛与莫扎特》里，李德伦讲莫扎特代表新兴上升的资产阶级，斯特恩强忍不笑。看的人都想笑。但这鬼话还是说明点东西的，就是讲法笨拙一点。古典作曲家们还是明朗健康的，没有后现代的包袱和神经兮兮。马勒的音乐，我健康的时候绝不想听。连柴可夫斯基的交响乐也不过是交响林妹妹而已。

They did lots of music. How can you attribute the effect to Mozart? :) Music, selected on a personal basis, helped my emotional health,and probably other health as well. When I need power, I go for Beethoven; when I need serenity, I go for Bach; when I am flimsy, I go for Chopin; when I am fine, I listen to myself.

That Maya doesn't have a direction, does not mean the cafe necessarily has to have none. On the other hand, I am not keen on big direction either. The cafe could be an anchor where the directionless Maya occasionally return to and recognize herself a bit and exclaim,"hey, I've got a cafe!" I much prefer real life and consider virtual life only a diversion when I am at work. Apart from some useful sites, CND and the cafe are the only two I currently frequent. I don't need that many crappy sites at all.

Glad that Miss Ma is so into whatever she is in love with. Not to be a distracter, organ is not my favorite instrument. Organ can never sound intimate. It can sound rousing, soul-stiring, piercing, intimidating, even haughty. Church's acoustic ploy to awe-strike the poor souls. Am I wrong? :)

This stuff led me to nobelprize.org where I found a gold mine of prize lectures and I started to read these in economics backwards. The challenge to the rational man assumption in economics is not new. You can modifiy the assumption but you can never do away with it. Without a somewhat rational assumption of man, there will be no logic in economics. Hedonomics sounds fun but don't expect it will offer anything definite soon, or ever.

There's value as well limitation in iconoclasm. It all depends on how much we can gain in knowing many facets of a person. I like the fact that there are very different personalities in the world and personalities are often not what you think who they are. I do not wish that that A should be like B. Soemtimes you see people demand just this. A pea is a pea. Let a pea be a pea. :)

It'll be better if you could post it in simplified Chinese. The traditional one looks more cluttering to the eyes therefore more a visual pain to me. :)

Attention wanders. My experience was that you would do better paying full attention to it while listening. Otherwise you would have a too fragmentary experience to be happy about. But it is so hard to concentrate for an hour (about an average CD length) nowadays and the set runs 5+ hours.

I haven't read any of Oliver Sacks' but the one title that tickled me was his "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat : And Other Clinical Tales". :) Other than struggle for survival, life is nothing but killing time, 跟邓小平过不去 is only a minor one. :)
